Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Advocacy Alliance Announces Board of Directors

Komen Founder Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker to Serve as Board Chair

WASHINGTON, D.C. - June 24, 2009 – The Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Advocacy Alliance announced today the 19 members of its board of directors, which includes leaders from the business, advocacy and heath care industries and includes survivors and co-survivor(s). The Board will be chaired by Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, who founded the Komen Advocacy Alliance’s sister organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, as a promise to her sister Susan, who died of breast cancer at age 36. Under her leadership, the Board will help build the organization’s financial standing and will help guide its policy agenda.

“Each of our new board members brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective that will be instrumental to this organization’s impact,” said Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, chair of the board of the Komen Advocacy Alliance and the founding chair of its sister organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
